Strainers and their distinctive features.

Water strainer is a component of a water purification system. It is necessary to remove impurities, agricultural waste, harmful substances and microorganisms.

Flow strainers improve the quality of life and are the most effective devices that purify water for household tasks and drinking in an apartment or a country cottage. They are able to protect the pipeline and plumbing from damage by coarse particles.

Types of water purifiers:

1. Main strainers for water. The main strainer of the technical type is installed in the branch of the pipeline passing in the house. They are suitable for water of any temperature, cope with the purification of sand and insoluble deposits;
2. Membrane strainer is suitable for fine cleaning. Reverse osmosis system eliminates unpleasant odors and aftertaste;
3. Strainer jugs or drinking strainers are a smaller-scale device, which is also installed under the sink as a membrane analogue.

The need for multi-stage water purification outside the city is beyond doubt, while in apartment buildings residents are less demanding about the need for filtration.

The water entering the apartment from a centralized water supply system requires thorough cleaning due to the fact that when passing through the pipeline, it collects fungus, corrosion and deposits accumulated inside. Pipe fittings, faucets and household appliances often fail for this reason.

Coarse water strainer installed in the pipeline detains solid impurities. The strainer takes on one of the most difficult tasks. After purification, the water is sent to fine strainers or directly to mixers.

Water strainers differ in the type of strainer element and in various ways of removing impurities:

• Mesh strainer is the most popular type of devices used for coarse cleaning. For example, a Mesh strainer VD YS-316 is made of stainless steel, threaded. The main element of filtration through which water passes is a microcellular mesh. It is made of corrosion-resistant steel. The filter requires at least annual maintenance and can be used for a long time for its intended purpose. When choosing, it is necessary to start from the installation method and the possibilities of periodic cleaning;
• Flanged mesh strainer. Its difference lies in the method of installation in the pipeline. If the diameter of the pipeline exceeds 2 inch, then this type of strainer is installed. Installation in apartment buildings is common;
• Pre-cleaning strainer with a thread is suitable for installation in a pipe located in an apartment.

The use of strainers helps to make the water from the general system soft and improve its properties.

Coarse strainers solve a limited range of tasks. The water purified by them is not suitable for safe drinking and cooking at home. To remove salts and organic constituents from the water, it is worth using devices for fine purification.

Modern filtering devices are able to change the properties of water and eliminate the need for boiling. There are several types of fine cleaning systems:

• Sorption-type cleaners eliminate foreign impurities. The service life is 3-5 years, characterized by increased throughput;
• Ion exchange strainers . Contribute to the softening and disinfection of water;
• Membrane strainers with microcells up to 3 microns.

All filtering devices need timely cleaning and removal of deposits. If this requirement is met, their work will be productive.
