Wafer Butterfly Valve with pneumatic actuator
Wafer butterfly valve with pneumatic actuator.
If we consider the most popular and promising components of pipelines, then disc valves always deserve special attention. The design combines high reliability, tightness and affordable prices for installation and maintenance.
A common type of pipe fittings for regulating and blocking fluid movement. It is made in the form of a disk on the axis placed in the housing. The disk can be rotated to the required angle by means of a handle, electric or pneumatic drive - to control the throughput.
A seal is installed in the housing, which, when the disc fits, allows for 100% tightness. The design of the housing and the sealing material are selected depending on the parameters of the fluid and the medium where the pneumatic valves will be installed. Some modifications can withstand -104 °F to +392 °F.
The main structural element is a stainless steel flap. When the shutter is turned, the access channel closes or opens.
Design and application features:
There are different options for controlling the shutter - this is a lever handle, or a gearbox for large diameters. It is also an electric drive or a pneumatic drive, for example, a Wafer butterfly valve Valve-Daddy with double-acting VD-DApneumatic actuator.
What tasks does the disk shutter solve:
- The ability to turn on and off the supply of the working medium;
- Resetting the remainder of the stream;
- The separation of the working environment into phases is supported;
- The function of connecting multiple threads of the working environment.
- Flexible and uncomplicated customization and adjustment options.
Advantages and main working features of the equipment:
- Compact dimensions of the structure, light enough weight;
- Insignificant construction length;
- The tightness of the overlap of the flow of the medium for both directions is ensured;
- Affordable cost;
- Versatility of use for various tasks;
- Constructive simplicity with a minimum number of details;
- Minimum resistance in hydraulics;
- Replaceable seals;
- The ability to work with large diameters;
- High maintainability;
- Availability in the installation.
Before installing the rotary disc shutter, it is necessary to check the serviceability of the working body and the complete closure / opening of the shutter. It is recommended to place the stem in a horizontal position. Due to this, it will be possible to limit the minimum wear of the seat seal, significantly increasing the service life of the shutter. The valves can be located in any installation position, except for the "stock down" option. The rotary shutter is installed in the "open" position - so that the disc is not clamped by the seat seal. Before installation, it is necessary to check the compliance of the valve with the specific conditions of the working environment, system parameters. Regular inspections of the equipment are required at intervals depending on the operating mode – but in any case, at least once every six months. Inspection and verification should be carried out by specialists responsible for system maintenance.
