To date, it is difficult to imagine a water supply system without the use of such shut-off valves as a ball valve. With its help, the flow in the system is blocked or its intensity is reduced, water is drained. The ball valve is a small piece of pipe having a thickening in the middle part. It contains a seat made of sealing material, which houses the main element of the crane - a ball. If the faucet is designed to adjust hot and cold water, then there are more holes. In particular, if the device performs the function of a mixer, then there can be three holes – a three-way tap.

If we talk about hydraulic losses, then cranes are divided into two types: a full-bore ball valve, where the diameter of the hole in the ball and the inner diameter of the pipeline are equal. And a standard-bore ball valve (reduced), here the diameter of the hole in the ball is one size smaller than the diameter of the pipeline on which the crane is installed. This type is installed in systems in which partial pressure loss is permissible.

Installation of ball coupling cranes is carried out after removal of the old crane and cleaning of the connection points. Then a threaded seal is applied, after which the product is wound. If the pipe is new, then it is necessary to cut it and screw the thread.

The crane is activated by turning a lever in which a ball with a hole is fixed with a rod. As a result of the movement of the lever, the ball valve rotates relative to the axis of the water pipe. The hole also rotates, due to which there is a movement of the water flow.

The pipeline crane with coupling connection to the pipeline has a high popularity in application, thanks to a wide choice of materials from which it is made. For example, a brass ball valve of type 11b27p1 is made of brass, the most suitable type for household plumbing. It has a light weight, good quality and an affordable price. However, it is not recommended to use it for high temperature water. Steel models are no less popular, such cranes have high quality and a wide range of operating temperatures. And a stainless steel water faucet is also not subject to corrosion, for example, a stainless threaded KSHMP faucet VD with ISO flange. For installation on polypropylene pipes, a polypropylene water tap is used.

The ball coupling valve has a number of advantages over cranes with alternative ways of embedding in the pipeline system. The flanged ball valve, due to its dimensions, is more often installed on main networks with the help of flanges and bolts. Valves for welding - the connection is carried out by welding, which makes the system absolutely sealed, but requires the use of a special device. The coupling ball valve is used for water and gas pipelines, as well as other systems transporting liquids and gases. Fixation is carried out by means of a coupling. Hence their name. It has such types of connection as internal thread, external thread, American tap (cap nut). That will allow installation in any position.

There are also differences in management. Coupling cranes come with manual control: lever handle, butterfly handle. Separately, it is worth considering the possibility of controlling the flows of the environment remotely. This is possible if a crane with an electric or pneumatic drive is installed in the system.
